Lactic Acid

Lactic acid is an organic alpha hydroxyl acid that is produced both naturally and synthetically. It was originally refined from sour milk by the Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele in 1780. Today, lactic acid is mostly found in sour milk products like yogurt, kefir and kombucha. It is also found in some beauty products like AmLactin foot creams, as it is known to help fight against wrinkles, sun damage and dry skin.
