Hepatitis

Hepatitis is a common medical condition in which the liver becomes inflamed. It can occur with little to no symptoms, but if often leads to jaundice, poor appetite and lack of energy. There are many causes of hepatitis, but viral infections, autoimmune diseases and ingestion of toxic materials (including alcohol) are the most common.

 

There are three types of hepatitis: Type A, B and C. In addition to fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, and abdominal pain, a common symptom of hep C is swelling, numbness, tingling and inflammation in the feet. 

 

If you suspect you could have hepatitis, it’s important to seek medical attention right away. Left untreated, it can lead to cirrhosis of the liver and liver cancer.
